Knockin and Kinnerley Cricket Club’s finances are looking in better health – thanks to a new sponsorship deal for their electronic scoreboard.
The scoreboard will carry the branding of WPA Healthcare Practice, a private medical insurer run locally by Healthcare Partner Tom Davies. The deal will run for three years.
Tom was keen to secure a sponsorship deal with a local cricket club, believing that the values of the sport align with his own and those of his business.
He said: “I strongly believe that health is about more than just access to high-quality private medical care; it’s about building stronger, healthier communities.
“As a not-for-profit private health insurer, WPA is guided by values of integrity, care, and a long-term commitment to the wellbeing of our members. These same principles inspire us to invest in the communities we serve, supporting initiatives that promote both physical health and social connection.
“That’s why I am incredibly proud to be sponsoring Knockin & Kinnerley Cricket Club through my WPA Healthcare Practice.”
He added: “As a former PE teacher, I have seen first-hand the powerful role sport plays in improving both physical and mental wellbeing. Cricket, in particular, brings people together across all ages and backgrounds, fostering teamwork, resilience, and a shared sense of belonging.
“Knockin & Kinnerley Cricket Club is doing exactly that—creating a welcoming environment where people can stay active, build friendships, and be part of something bigger. I am proud to support a club that is not only preserving the traditions of the game but also investing in its future.
I look forward to being part of KKCC’s journey and contributing to a thriving local community for many years to come.”
Patrick Evans, a committee member at Knockin & Kinnerley, said: “We are hugely grateful to Tom for his support and are proud to be putting the WPA name on our scoreboard for the next three years.
“Our sponsors are vital to us being able to maintain and grow a thriving club, and this investment will help us to do just that.
“Tom has been a pleasure to work with, and I look forward to our partnership continuing over the next three years, and hopefully beyond as well.”
